About the role
The Office Coordinator will provide coordination of patient service within the Oncology Practice Center. Responsibilities include overseeing all front office functions, managing provider templates and meeting schedules, supporting front office staff, running department reports, managing referrals, and assisting patients and physicians regarding billing concerns.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all front office functions and maintains department organization
- Perform various administrative functions including phones, scheduling appointments, referrals, managing reporting, and other related computer tasks
- Manage provider templates and meeting schedule
- Support front office staff questions and coverage
- Communicate effectively and act as a liaison between office personnel, physicians, patients, hospital personnel, and patient accounts
- Research and obtain prior authorizations and resolve missing charges and other documents to facilitate efficient billing procedures and operations
- Aid patients and physicians regarding patient payment/billing concerns and notify appropriate personnel to obtain resolution
- Assist with lead coordination and provide expert knowledge of the electronic scheduling system
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years of experience in a fast-paced medical office required
- Epic experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of insurance requirements
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Basic working knowledge of medical terminology
