Job Summary
The Office Clerk provides general office support for the department.
Responsibilities
- Provides departmental clerical support
- Maintains calendars, telephones, records, correspondence, filing and faxing
- Performs other duties as needed
Education and Experience
No experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Reads; writes legibly; speaks in English with professional quality
- Uses computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally
- Operates/troubleshoots basic office equipment required for the position
- Relates and communicates positively, effectively, and professionally with others
- Works calmly and responds courteously when under pressure
- Collaborates and accepts direction
- Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; perform basic math functions; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position
