Office Clerk - $18.50/Hour

About the role

Dohrn Transfer is a leading Midwest LTL Carrier offering less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services across 10 states. This position is available at our Rock Island, IL terminal.

Responsibilities

• To locate and correctly place over, short, damaged, and missing freight and prevent claims.
• We will train; previous trucking experience is not necessary. Office experience is a plus.
• Daily telephone and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Review manifests, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
• Aid terminals and customers regarding over, short, and damaged freight.
• Request dispositions for redelivery, reconsignment, and returns.
• Locate missing freight.
• Research mis-delivered freight and ensure it gets delivered correctly.
• Billing of disposition freight.
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School completion or equivalent.
• Valid Driver License.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, problem-solving, self-motivated.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain great relationships with customers.
• Ability to work in a team as well as individually.
• Excellent attendance.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Primarily sedentary work.
• Occasionally requires lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Requires regular use of computer equipment.
• Includes repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers.
• May be exposed to noise from telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others.
