Responsibilities
- Verify correct account codes for data entry
- Verify locations in Data Viewer
- Answer phones and take messages
- Print labels and complete paperwork when issuing parts; stamp and file paperwork when completed
- Perform daily spot checks on maintenance and equipment inventory; pull reports and count stock items to verify against reports
- Verify deliveries to ensure quantity orders have been received
- Confirm Purchase Orders of items belong to Albany Division
- Match and review manufacturer part numbers to ensure correct parts are delivered
- Sort and distribute materials
- Deliver items using a forklift or van
- Restock shelves and maintain clean, neat, and orderly shelves and stockroom
- Mop floors, vacuum office, and remove trash and cardboard as needed
- Take periodic physical inventory and maintain perpetual inventory records
- Operate a motor vehicle/forklift (requires a clean Class D license)
- Routinely lift and/or carry heavy items and perform tasks requiring reaching, bending, standing, and walking for long periods
Requirements
- Fingerprinting is required
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the time of appointment and throughout employment
- Must produce documents verifying identity and authorization to work in the U.S. as required by federal law
- Must possess or obtain a clean Class D driver’s license

Transfer Qualifications for Current State Employees:
- Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service allocated to a Grade 6 or above, eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law
NY Helps Minimum Qualifications:
- No minimum education or experience requirements for this title
- This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS) and may be filled via a non-competitive appointment (no examination required, but candidates must meet minimum qualifications)
- Employees hired under NY HELPS may later have their non-competitive status converted to competitive status without examination
- While serving in an NY HELPS title, employees may participate in any promotion examination for which they are qualified

Pay
The salary range for this position includes:
- Base Pay: $17.16 (hiring rate) up to $24.80 (job rate)
- Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37
