Responsibilities
- Typing, proofreading, reviewing, and correcting correspondence and documents
- Transcribing hand-written materials
- Gathering data for charts, graphs, and tables
- Preparing routine reports
Qualifications
There are no education or experience requirements for an Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding position, but candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Candidates may qualify through one of the following pathways:
- Outside State service: Eligible for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program.
- Competitive class appointment: Reachable on the current Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding eligible list.
- Within State service: One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
