Job Responsibilities
- Comply with all FAA, Airport, TSA, CBP, USDA, and Air General safety and security procedures, and immediately report any discrepancies to a supervisor or manager.
- Handle phone calls professionally and courteously, and accept dangerous goods in accordance with FAA regulations and IATA DGR guidelines.
- Review and understand all documentation supporting a flight arrival/departure.
- Releasing import international freight after reviewing CBP clearances and authorizations, collecting air freight charges, and preparing freight transfer manifests.
- Monitor multiple email accounts and respond to customer inquiries.
- Provide customers with information concerning the status of their shipments.
- Reconcile Master and House air waybills, as applicable against ACE Customs systems.
- Handle, prepare, and manifest export flights for multiple carriers/cities.
- Data capture Export consignments.
- Verify booking details and request corrections where applicable.
- Prepare transfer manifests and notify accordingly for multiple carriers/cities.
- Send arrival notices for international inbound shipments to multiple carriers/cities.
- Work independently and with a team to solve problems.
- Any additional requests by the station and department management teams.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to obtain a valid airport SIDA badge.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid and unexpired US Driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Candidates must possess some intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks, applicable Custom Security Seal, and post offer drug screens.
- Be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, high-noise environment, and meet deadlines.
- Some travel may be required for airline specific training.
