Offensive Security Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Offensive Security Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on strengthening the security posture of a high-scale financial technology environment through hands-on offensive testing and adversarial simulation. You will assess web applications, cloud systems, and internal defenses to uncover weaknesses before attackers do. The work will be highly cross-functional, partnering closely with defensive security, incident response, and threat hunting teams to improve detection and response maturity. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $170,400 – $255,700 annually Responsibilities Conduct penetration tests across web and cloud applications Plan and execute red team engagements simulating real-world threats Perform assessments to evaluate detection and response capabilities Collaborate with defensive teams to improve security controls Contribute insights for detection rule development and threat hunting Support incident investigations with offensive expertise Design and maintain custom tools and automation frameworks Qualifications 5+ years of experience in offensive security, penetration testing, or red teaming Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages Deep knowledge of web application security, including OWASP Top 10 Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP Proficiency with offensive tools such as Burp Suite and Cobalt Strike Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and adversary tradecraft Excellent communication skills to convey technical findings clearly Benefits Equity participation in the company's growth 401(k) plan with matching contributions Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Wellness stipends Annual budget for training, certifications, and conference attendance Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
