About the role

Develop, plan, and execute the regional OEM strategy for the business segments and the product line. Provide guidance to the industry regarding OEM specification-setting based on deep understanding of technical issues defined by Evonik’s technologies, products, and spheres of knowledge. Establish contacts with OEMs, build long-term relationships, and influence the industry to adopt resource-efficient solutions that benefit Oil Additives. Identify and communicate opportunities for new or expanded business as well as potential threats to current business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the regional OEM strategy for all products in the Business Line Oil Additives.
  • Provide guidance to the industry regarding OEM specification-setting based on deep technical understanding of Evonik’s technologies and products.
  • Establish contacts with OEMs and build long-term relationships to influence the adoption of resource-efficient solutions.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for new or expanded business, as well as potential threats to current business.
  • Cooperate closely with automotive business segment managers to support the implementation of OEM aspects of the segment strategy, both internally and with industry bodies.
  • Collaborate with OEM Managers in other regions to ensure global alignment of OEM strategies and actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical, marketing, account management, or OEM roles in the lubricants or automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of OEM value chains, drivers, and needs; knowledge in lubricant formulation desired.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge and strong interest in engineering topics.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with a proven ability to build trust with key OEM stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in documenting via CRM tools and ability to travel as needed to meet OEM contacts and attend industry meetings/events.
