About the role

The OEM Application Engineer - West Region reports to the OEM Regional Sales Director. This role leads the specification, testing, and implementation of solutions for Eaton industrial components, power components, and power distribution portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and schematics to assist with quotes and solutions
  • Develop and conduct training for regional sales team, end users, and channel partners
  • Provide technical assistance for the regional sales team
  • Effectively communicate product line value proposition and strategies
  • Proactively communicate voice of customer (VOC) and recommend product enhancements to the product lines
  • Maintain and expand product knowledge base
  • Participate in product road mapping, strategy, and planning sessions with the product lines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum ten (10) years of electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
  • Deep understanding of control systems, automation & industrial processes and various programming software packages such as Codesys
  • Experience working with third-party certification agencies, codes and standards (i.e., UL508, UL891, UL1558)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

Skills

  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid
  • Ability to assist with the layout and design control and monitoring systems using Eaton’s assembly and component products
  • Skillful at leading teams, consensus building, and mentoring
  • Initiative and self-management skills
  • Value selling experience
  • Electrical product knowledge
  • Proficient on some or all the following: power quality and reliability products and applications, power monitoring products and application, power control products and applications
  • A demonstrated ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as facility engineers at universities, municipalities, and end users
  • Possess knowledge of products, markets, and channels and associated applications
  • Able to travel up to 50%

Benefits

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $143,250 - $252,120. Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
