About the role

New Permanent Teacher (NPT) position for French as a Second Language (FSL) at Our Lady of Lake (26%), Prince of Peace (12%), and Canadian martyrs (12%) with a 0.5 FTE, effective immediately. Schedule may increase in percentage if growth occurs. As an NPT, the position does not carry the right to the position or school and may be declared excess at the end of the school year per Board/OECTA Staffing Guidelines. Requirements

  • Hold French qualifications (French as a Second Language teaching qualification).
  • Completed a four‑month LTO with satisfactory evaluation uploaded to Apply to Education profile.
  • Provide a recent positive pastoral reference dated within the last twelve months of application date.
  • If hired prior to September 21, 2025: must already hold the Additional Qualification in Religious Education, Part 1.
  • If hired on or after September 21, 2025: must obtain the Additional Qualification in Religious Education, Part 1 within twelve months of hire onto the Occasional Teacher Roster.
  • Successful candidates must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check issued within the past six months prior to commencement of employment.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the requirements listed above; possession of the French teaching qualification and the Religious Education AQ (or commitment to obtain it) is essential.

Schedule

0.5 FTE (half‑time) position; schedule may increase in percentage if enrolment growth occurs.
