What You Will Do

GFT is seeking an OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group! If you are in Chicago, IL, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO, Marlton, NJ, Roanoke, VA, or Monroeville, PA, this position would be Hybrid. However, for the right candidate, this would be a remote position.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

  • Participate in Project Team meetings with clients, other consultants, and contractors.
  • Review client submittals to ensure constructability and compliance with client standards and procedures.
  • Review transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or other structural design software.
  • Review design criteria documents and construction specifications.
  • Review comprehensive construction packages, including structure loading drawings, structure details, material lists, staking tables, plan and profiles, and stringing charts.
  • Review project schedules and ensure that materials and long lead times are ordered in time for construction.
  • Review specifications in compliance with NESC, IEEE, NEC requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Cook up feasibility studies, routing studies, and EMF calculations to support project planning.
