About the role
We're looking for someone to join our team as a Patient Service Representative. Your main responsibilities will include greeting patients and guests, scheduling appointments, and ensuring accurate patient information is recorded. You'll also help with financial transactions and ensure patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Initiate scheduling and check-in processes for patients
- Obtain and verify accurate patient identification and demographic data
- Perform financial analysis and communicate patient financial responsibility
- Balance cash drawer daily and prepare deposit slips
- Ensure all required forms are completed and gather necessary paperwork
- Communicate with patients and families in a courteous and professional manner
- Support multiple functions across different patient and payer types
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification) preferred
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software specific to the role
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle high-stress situations
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent decision-making and analytical skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree preferred
Skills
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficient with various healthcare insurance benefit software packages
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local billing regulations
