These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize and/or model ocean circulation and biogeochemical processes and/or their interactive effects on marine ecosystems.
  • Analysis of available satellite remote sensing observations, in-situ and airborne observations from past field experiments, and global model output from prior community experiments.
  • New development and applications of high-resolution ocean process models or parameterizations that are applicable in global ocean models or can be applied to global satellite remote sensing observations.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree.
  • Applications are encouraged from prospective post-doctoral fellows who aim to focus on scientific areas including but not limited to mesoscale, submesoscale and surface boundary layer processes, air-sea-ice interaction, coastal ocean processes, and the consequences of global warming for the ocean.
