About the role
The Occupational Therapy Assistant at NorthBay Health works under the management supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Supervisor and Practice Manager. They administer assigned patient treatments, assist with treatment planning, prepare and transmit patient progress reports, supervise students and volunteers, and communicate with rehabilitation team members, family, physicians, and third-party payers.
Responsibilities
- Administers occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, in inpatient and outpatient settings during assigned shift.
- Assists with treatment planning and prepares and maintains accurate patient records.
- Communicates with rehabilitation team members, family, physicians, and third-party payers regarding patient progress and program changes.
- Attends and/or participates in in-services and meetings as required.
- Assists with orientation and supervision of other health care professionals and participates in student intern and/or volunteer programs.
- Maintains clean, safe, and orderly treatment areas and equipment.
- Communicates with physicians, co-workers, patients, and other hospital personnel.
- Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops within assigned specialty areas.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate of Science degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
- Current California Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
- AHA or equivalent BLS certification and all other annual requirements of System and department (TB, Safety, etc.).
- One-year experience in acute hospital or outpatient clinic preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
Qualifications
- Good basic clinical skills in occupational therapy treatment for a wide range of physical disabilities.
- Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
- Knowledge of existing laws and regulations governing the practice of Occupational Therapy.
Skills
- Basic clinical skills in occupational therapy treatment for a wide range of physical disabilities.

Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $44.21 - Max $53.75 (Hourly rate will be based on years of experience).
Schedule
Assigned shift during department operating hours, including assignment in rotation of weekend and holiday coverage (required).
