About the role

Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat patients in the most functional environment: their home. This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment across various settings, implementing occupational therapy programs and treatments to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements, and work-related meetings.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with each patient’s needs and capabilities.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment as necessary.
  • Prioritize patient service by ensuring a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights.
  • Implement a patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions in areas such as:
    • Cognitive skills
    • Muscle strength and coordination
    • Endurance and mobility
    • Perceptual abilities and sensory awareness
    • Sitting and standing tolerance
    • Balance and falls risk management
    • Activities of daily living
    • Joint protection and work simplification
    • Orientation and medication management
    • Health and wellness
    • Community integration and reintegration
    • Low vision
    • Physical agent modalities
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences.

Pay

USD $35.00 - USD $44.00 per hour.
