Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited university and occupational therapy assistant program.
  • We accept applications from individuals currently enrolled in accredited programs.
  • We will not review any candidates without these qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement Therapy Interventions: Deliver age-appropriate therapeutic interventions using play-based techniques, sensory activities, and exercises to improve fine and gross motor skills, daily living activities, and social participation.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed to meet the child’s developmental goals.
  • Family Education and Training: Provide guidance, resources, and training to parents and caregivers on techniques to support therapy goals at home, including exercises, adaptive strategies, and behavior management.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for each child.
  • Promote Sensory Integration and Regulation: Address sensory processing disorders through structured activities aimed at improving a child’s ability to process and respond to sensory information.
  • Support School Readiness: Prepare children for school by working on fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting), self-care tasks, and social skills necessary for classroom participation.
  • Audit and Recommend Assistive Devices: Evaluate and recommend adaptive equipment, tools, and environmental modifications to enhance a child’s independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Maintain Documentation and Compliance: Complete accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and relevant regulations.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning opportunities, staying updated on the latest pediatric OT practices, research, and techniques.
  • Community Outreach and Education: Assist in organizing workshops, educational sessions, and support groups for families and community partners to promote awareness of pediatric occupational therapy services.
