Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment interventions and modalities under the supervising OT.
• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), functional mobility, and adaptive equipment training.
• Document clearly in the EMR and keep plans of care current.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate with residents and families.

Requirements

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Pennsylvania.
• Experience in geriatric and/or skilled nursing settings.
• Strong interpersonal communication, resident-centered mindset, and comfort with documentation software.

A Typical Shift

You’ll arrive to a clear schedule and connect briefly with the rehab team to align on the day’s priorities. Sessions move between resident rooms and therapy spaces, with time to adjust pacing based on energy, cognition, and goals. Between visits, you’ll update notes in the EMR, coordinate quick check-ins with nursing, and refine next steps with your supervising OT. The day wraps with a final documentation sweep and a handoff that sets up tomorrow smoothly—within a full-time, flexible day-shift rhythm that often supports a 4-day work week.
