Job Summary
Lakeview Village is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. This position works Full Time and assists in the treatment of patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Records treatments administered in patients' medical records and in the department's daily billing records, in accordance with established procedures.
- Instructs patients, family, and staff in maintenance programs, as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Attends and participates in patient care conferences and rehabilitation departmental meetings.
- Maintains and continually improves professional competency by attending in-service trainings and utilizing other educational materials.
- Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection control procedures at all times.
- Ensures that services are provided at all times in accordance with applicable guidelines, regulations, and standards of practice.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that Therapy Services programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of facility, residents, and patients.
- Ensures that Resident’s Rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to express grievances are followed.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
- Must be licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Kansas, and nationally credited as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.
- Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
- Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
- Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
