Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the role

As an Enhance Rehabilitation occupational therapist assistant, you will work under the guidance of an occupational therapist to assist in treating patients. Your responsibilities include following an individualized plan of care developed by Occupational Therapists, assisting with treatment, implementing occupational therapy programs, documenting patient conditions, and communicating with relevant staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in treating patients according to an individualized plan of care.
• Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment programs based on each patient's needs.
• Aid patients through all phases of occupational therapy treatment and techniques.
• Discuss treatment plans with patients and document their conditions and responses in charts after each session.
• Communicate continuously with Occupational Therapists, Directors of Rehab, and facility staff.
• Operate and apply knowledge of standard occupational therapy equipment.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong educational background in occupational therapy or a related field, along with a current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in your state. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills are essential, as are the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
