Occupational Therapist Weekend
This is a premium pay rate weekend position consisting of working 46 out of 52 weekends at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph. The weekend is defined as shifts between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, with specific times varying according to location and need. The role includes working at least one summer and one winter holiday weekend.
About the role
Assess, plan, organize, administer, document, and evaluate direct occupational therapy patient care in accordance with accepted occupational therapy practice and the physician's overall treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law to determine the patient's rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan.
- Administer occupational therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedures to maximize the patient's potential functional level and achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family, physician, and other team members.
- Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records, and reports for all assigned patients to provide a clear record and communicate the patient's treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
- Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
- Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of rehab services.
- Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding occupational therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
- Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience, which includes patient safety, quality of care, and excellent service.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited therapy program.
- LIC-Occupational Therapist - State of Michigan (upon hire).
- CRT-Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (upon hire).
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
