Occupational Therapist (PT)

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and/or individual occupational therapy for identified students in grades K-12 with sensory, physical, motor, and other therapy needs.
• Maintain records on the initial evaluation, progress, and discharge of students to identify problems, track progress, and justify treatment.
• Develop an individualized plan of care for each student.
• Provide present levels of functioning and OT goals and objectives for students’ IEPs.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, special educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement individual or group programs and support classroom activities.
• Use qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, including screenings, standardized tests, and special instruments, to analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of occupational therapy impairments and to measure progress toward IEP goals and standards.
• Write comprehensive evaluations.
• Participate in grade level team meetings, faculty meetings, Intervention and Referral Services meetings, and Student Support Team meetings as necessary.
• Work in conjunction with Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal to plan further responsibilities of the role, in line with school development vision.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including teachers, special educators, administrators, and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

The salary ranges from $32,000 - $60,752 (PT salaries based on pay structure).

Schedule

This is a Part Time role, projected for up to 20 hours/week.
