Job Description

The staff therapist using independent judgment also assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of occupational therapy services provided by certified occupational therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians/support staff and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the team leader in the absence of that individual. The staff therapist participates in performance improvement and program development activities, which includes providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to cost effectiveness of services, and maintaining positive relations with all customers.

Supervision

  • Supervises certified occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians/support staff, students and volunteers assigned to Occupational Therapy, in accordance with state practice act, regulatory, and payor guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Licensed in the state of Idaho
  • Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy School
  • Must be a graduate of a professional training program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledgeable in internet navigation using Netscape, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer and basic computer skills to utilize email, and open and close documents.
  • BLS Required

Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements)

  • Frequently able to move/push up to 35 pounds, occasionally able to lift/carry/move/push up to 100 pounds.
