Occupational Therapist - Per Diem

Join our dynamic team at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital as an Occupational Therapist. In this role you will plan and execute engaging activity services for patients, contributing directly to their treatment goals and overall well‑being. As a valued member of an interdisciplinary team you will provide continuous care, interaction, and positive role modeling, fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth.

Responsibilities

• Observe and apply sound judgment to patients' physical and mental conditions/needs.
• Document and communicate changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and ability to work towards treatment plan goals.
• Provide assessment in psychosocial, leisure, and recreational skills development/deficiency.
• Assist patients in achieving their optimum level of independent functioning.
• Plan and implement activity therapy for assigned patient caseload within the facility.
• Model and teach patients appropriate social, coping, and stress‑management techniques.
• Contribute to treatment plans with specific goals and interventions in therapeutic activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
• Current certification or licensure by the state of Washington and/or national governing body in occupational therapy.
• At least one (1) year of related experience, preferably with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness.

Skills

• Successful completion of CPR certification.
• Successful completion of CPI certification prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 30 days of employment.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.

Pay

The expected compensation is $40.00 per hour, with consideration given to experience and skill level.

Schedule

Weekend shift, per‑diem position with potential overtime and flexible hours.
