About the role

Select Specialty Hospital-Springfield is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients. Occupational Therapists (OTs) are integral in delivering compassionate, high-quality care throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and OT and COTA students
• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment
• Engage in continuing education seminars and in-services

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment

Qualifications

• Experience in critical illness recovery settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
