Occupational Therapist (Pediatric)

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • 1 year of previous pediatric experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
  • Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or equivalent.
  • Licensed in the state of Virginia or eligible for licensure/registration per state registration practices.
  • Pass a Background Check.
  • Complete evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for children in an outpatient clinic.
  • Accurate documentation in EMR system.
  • Detailed and thorough communication with child's healthcare providers through progress reports, phone calls, and other forms of communication.
  • Assess and make recommendations regarding appropriate assistive technology and/or adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Acts as a supervisor for COTAs in the clinic.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to assist patients in standing/sitting; reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. is also required.

We are looking for an energetic, growth-minded Occupational Therapist with pediatric experience that enjoys the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of children and is creative in educating the children's guardian/family.

Pay

$800 Continuing Education Allowance.
