About the Role
The Occupational Therapist provides outpatient rehabilitation services primarily in in-home settings for older adults, including private residences and independent living facilities. They evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapy programs to improve skills related to mobility, cognition, sensory awareness, and daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Perform therapy techniques across various functional areas
- Modify interventions based on patient progress
- Supervise support staff and ensure timely documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members
- Adjust treatment plans as needed
- Facilitate the use of adaptive devices
- Perform reexaminations
- Promote a safe, compassionate environment
- Deliver high-quality, personalized care in diverse environments
- Support patient independence and safety
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited occupational therapy program
- Initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid state occupational therapy license
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
