Occupational Therapist (OT), San Lorenzo & Redwood City / East Palo Alto ($10,000 BONUS)

The Position Summary outlines our commitment to supporting students' educational outcomes through occupational therapy services. The available therapist position works with KIPP schools in the Peninsula (Redwood City / East Palo Alto) and San Lorenzo area. This is a Full-time in-person position reporting to the Lead of the OT-APE team.
Required Qualifications
- Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited institution
- NBCOT certification
- Current CBOT license
- Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational therapy, but not required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in school-based occupational therapy
- Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of various school-based occupational therapy assessments
- Demonstrated desire and success in working with students and families from educationally underserved areas
- Ability to work independently in school settings
- Familiarity with SEIS, PowerSchool, and Medi-Cal billing and data systems is helpful
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Provide in-person occupational therapy services across 5 KIPP schools in East Palo Alto & Redwood City, CA
- Screen, evaluate, score, and write reports
- Perform both direct and consultative services
- Track and bill services through online programs
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings
- Support the KIPP Schools NorCal mission and standards
- Align with and abide by KIPP Schools NorCal's missions and standards
- Support the larger OT-APE team as needed
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
- Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces
- Traditionally, much of the day involves moving
- Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-30 lbs
- Physical agility to move oneself in various positions to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead
- Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, make professional decisions, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize, and recall objects and people
- Environmental: School environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Frequent school environment movement, 75% of the time, and travel as needed, less than 10% of the time

Compensation
KIPP Northern California offers a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits. We benchmark annually against comparably-sized non-profit organizations and school districts in the regions where we operate, to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position uses a step scale based on years of experience. The usual starting range is between $99,000 and $117,000, depending upon experience.
