RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a combination of swing-bed, inpatient, and outpatient services.
- Perform assessments designed to gather data relevant to the patient’s individual needs.
- Develop patient care plan by utilizing physical agents, performing manual techniques, performing joint mobility techniques, exercises with or without equipment, providing adaptive equipment, managing burn/wound care, managing orthopedic patient.
- Organize clinical care: verbalize priorities of patient/resident care for assigned patient care load; describe routine shift care; give rationale for clinical decisions; revise patient care priorities as needed; demonstrate ability to adapt responses to unexpected events; delegate procedural activities appropriately; complete assignments within specified time frame; demonstrate team building behaviors; participate in patient care conferences.
- Demonstrate effective communication to patient, co-workers, insurance companies, other disciplines within hospital, schools, and home health agencies.
- Adhere to hospital safety policies and protocols.
- Care for patients ages birth to geriatric.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Wisconsin.
- Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Able to frequently transfer, lift, turn, or assist patient to or from bed, w/c, toilet or tubs.
- This requires the ability to push, pull, and lift 25 to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Push/pull patients weighing 78 to 250 pounds in wheelchair or gerichairs.
- Reposition patients weighing 78 to 250 pounds in chairs and bed to perform therapy treatments, and patient comfort needs.
- DPI license or willing to obtain (if OT work in school).
