About the role

Evaluates and treats patients of all ages who have suffered loss of upper extremity function, balance, coordination, perception, endurance, or present with decreased ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) due to trauma, surgery, or illnesses. This position creates a treatment plan based on assessment findings and works with patients and family members to achieve the highest possible level of independence.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and executes treatment plan based on assessment findings.
  • Documents assessments and interventions accurately and timely.
  • Educates patients and family members.
  • Evaluates patients' upper extremity function and ADLs performance.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings and case reviews.
  • Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) as needed.
  • Supervises OT and COTA students as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to meet unanticipated demands and priorities.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in Occupational Therapy.
  • Possess skills to work with patients of all ages from infant to geriatric.
  • Ability to perform work safely at all times, adhering to safety policies and procedures as well as the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Ability to perform all duties in a courteous and kind manner, placing patients' and families' needs first.
  • Ability to assist other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to conduct business in a respectful manner at all times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
  • Certified in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist.
