About the role

As an Occupational Therapist at Family Life Care, you will play a vital role in managing the care of our patients by providing compassionate and professional care in the comfort of their own home. FLC serves our entire community from children to senior citizens. You will have the opportunity to choose from various assignments, such as patient case manager, long-term care, or assisting with recovery from an injury or illness. FLC works with you to build your work schedule around your needs.

Responsibilities

• Patient assessment, admission, and coordination of care with other disciplines, physicians, and care managers
• Provide Occupational Therapy and treatment of home care patients in accordance with the plan of treatment and with company policies and procedures
• Deliver Occupational Therapy in a pleasant, professional manner to maximize positive outcomes and patient satisfaction
• Ensure that all clinical assessments, care plans, starting and resumption of care are completed within agency guidelines and must be deadline-driven
• Train, coach, and direct clinical staff in the performance of their clinical duties
• Responsible for compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and processes relevant to home health

Requirements

• Current Florida Occupational Therapy license
• Current CPR Certification
• Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance
• Current TB test with negative results
• Ability to pass a Level II background check

Qualifications

• Positive, approachable, and mentoring personality
• Understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to home health, especially Medicare and Medicaid
• Experience with Medicare (OASIS), Medicaid, and commercial insurance in the home health environment is desired
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail
• Embrace technology and have experience with industry software such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems
