Job Summary
Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, you will evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands-on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited school with bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
- Maintains current registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Maintains active Occupational Therapy Certification in the State of Colorado
- Maintains current certification in BLS for HealthCare Providers (in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines)
- Successful completion of student clinical rotation or work experience in at least one of the following settings: acute care hospital, long-term acute care facility, skilled nursing facility, and/or acute rehabilitation setting

About the Role
The position is PRN, Inpatient and Acute. Requires 2 weekend shifts per month, and 1 summer and 1 holiday coverage per year. Last year our HCA Healthcare colleagues invested over 156,000 hours volunteering in our communities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team
- Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care
- Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes
- Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences
- Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence
