About the Role

Join Geisinger Home Health, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, as an Occupational Therapist in Home Health. You will assess and evaluate patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions. This role is dedicated to helping people feel their best while creating meaningful connections with patients, families, and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, using evidence-based techniques, and in coordination with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the patient's functional status, body systems (as required for CMS documentation), and occupational therapy needs.
  • Consult with the physician to develop the therapy plan of care.
  • Observe, record, and report the patient's response to treatment and changes in condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
  • Conduct patient assessments using diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests.
  • Function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.

Requirements

  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Pay

Annual total cash target pay: $80,220 - $120,330.

  • Per visit point rate: $46.28 - $69.42.
  • Hourly rate: $38.57 - $57.85.

Annual total cash compensation assumes full-time employment (40 weekly hours) at full productivity and generally follows the range above. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay, based on factors such as local labor markets, education, and work experience. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work performed:

  • Per visit point rate for conducting visits, calculated by multiplying the per visit point rate by productivity points accrued for various types of visits.
  • Hourly rate for non-visit activities such as orientation.
