Job Name: Home Health Occupational Therapist
Location: Spokane Valley, WA
Coverage Area: Cover Stevens & Pend Oreille Counties. Looking for help in both areas, but would determine location based on need and clinicians preference
Duration: 3+ months Contract (Possibilities of extension)
Pay rate: $48.00 -$54.00/hour (W2) (Negotiable - Pay Rate is based on experience)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services within the scope of state licensure, following the physician-approved plan of care and evidence-based practices.
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities, body systems, and therapy needs; collaborate with physicians to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor, document, and report patients' progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition to the physician and nursing supervisor.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members about treatment plans, functional limitations, and progress toward goals.
- Complete timely evaluations, progress notes, reassessments, and discharge summaries in compliance with agency policies, CMS requirements, and state regulations.
- Travel throughout the assigned service area to provide home-based therapy services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, staff conferences, and agency committees.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and home health aides as permitted by state regulations and agency policy.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments using standardized diagnostic and functional testing.
- Provide in-service education and support ongoing staff development when requested.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge, continuing education, and active state licensure while adhering to professional standards of practice.
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility, including participation in weekend rotations and possible holiday coverage, to meet patient care needs.
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure
- Home health/home care experience preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
