Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy

About the role

Seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapist to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re‑assessment, discharge planning, and documentation.
• Participate in program development, protocol creation, and team collaboration to meet patient care goals.

Key Duties

• Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluations, patient presentation, and healthcare environment, consulting with other professionals as needed.
• Complete discharge planning, follow‑up care, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all patient care activities.
• Manage time efficiently, maintain a flexible schedule, and demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and adaptability to ensure seamless patient access to care.
• Pursue ongoing education for professional growth, serve as a clinical instructor, and mentor staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Licensure in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia as required by location.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Strong evaluation, treatment planning, communication, and teamwork skills.
