Occupational Therapist - Full Time - Home Health (Florence County)

About the role

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing occupational therapy services in accordance with the physician's written orders. Interacts daily with patients, family members and agency personnel and on a regular basis with physicians. Supervised by the Team Clinical Manager and collaborates with Home Health Assistants and Occupational Therapy Assistants when appropriate. Directly accountable to the Team Clinical Manager/Director of Operations McLeod Home Health.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Provides occupational therapy services in accordance with the physician's written orders.
• Interacts daily with patients, family members and agency personnel and on a regular basis with physicians.
• Serves as a resource to Home Health Assistants and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Collaborates with the Team Clinical Manager and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Manages own time productively and independently and complies with attendance and reporting requirements.
• Functions within agency and unit policies and procedures.
• Adheres to department dress code.
• Presents a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Works closely with other staff, students, and other external agencies and groups.

Requirements

• At least six months experience in a home health setting or other health care setting.
• Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
• Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: Must possess a current valid South Carolina driver's license and automobile insurance as required by law. Must be at least 21 years old to be covered under McLeod Health's fleet vehicle insurance policy. Must meet McLeod policy for driving eligibility. License and registration as required by law. Occupational Therapy license, BLS Certification (American Heart Association). Possession of professional liability insurance is encouraged.

• Effective interpersonal skills, empathy and ability to listen and plan with staff/patients/customers/physicians are essential characteristics.
• Must be able to efficiently communicate with a diverse population.
