Responsibilities
- Provide excellent healthcare, ensuring patients achieve good outcomes and are happy with their therapy experience
- Evaluate new patients, develop plans of care, and set measurable, functional goals
- Treat patients, address their concerns, and educate them on their injury, progress, and probable outcomes
- Supervise aides when providing modalities for non-Medicare, non-BCBSM patients, and in general setup and cleanup duties
- Re-evaluate patient progress, revise plans of care, and reset goals
- Determine when to discharge patients
- Write timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, re-evaluations, discharges, and daily progress notes
- Work with electronic medical records systems
- Understand Medicare, BCBSM, and other insurance billing regulations to ensure correct billing
- Complete documentation within company standard timelines (within 72 hours of treatment)
- Maintain a reasonable level of productivity (55 to 60 treatments plus evaluations per week for a full-time therapist with a normal outpatient orthopedic population)
- Help develop protocols for the most common diagnoses
- Participate in clinic-supported research studies
- Continue developing skills by attending company continuing education events and using the continuing education allowance for approved courses
- Commit to Team’s initiative of making DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) a priority, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment within a diverse workforce
Qualifications
- Master’s in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Occupational Therapist license
