Job Summary
Plans and conduct occupational therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings to help individuals recover from illness, injury, or developmental or psychological conditions.
Administers treatments to improve self-care, daily living skills, communication, mobility, cognitive function, social integration, and play/leisure skills.
Education & Experience
Certification, License or Registration Required: Occupational Therapist from the Mississippi Department of Health required by the hire date.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge: Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology.
Skills: Diagnosis, Treatment, Rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, Counseling and Guidance.

Responsibilities
Synthesize complex medical data and use results to administer appropriate tests and evaluate patients' physical and cognitive status.
Develop and update a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with the patient and family, including measurable short- and long-term goals and a defined discharge plan.
Utilize appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitor patient responses, and adapt programs as needed.
Maintain timely, legible, and efficient patient care documentation that meets professional and departmental standards.
Provide clear, concise, and pertinent oral reports.
Design, provide, and train patients and families in the use of assistive technology, devices, orthotics, prosthetics, splints, and environmental adaptations to support occupational performance.
Provide guidance and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for students and other medical staff.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team regarding patient treatment programs.
Meet patient care productivity standards as established for the job classification.
