About the role

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides diagnostic evaluations and implements treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Design and administer therapy programs to enhance patients' functional abilities
  • Instruct patients in adaptive techniques and equipment use
  • Assist with environmental modifications and splint fabrication
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Participate in home assessments
  • Provide therapy for neurological and traumatic brain injury patients
  • Train patients and families in self-care, safety, and energy conservation
  • Collaborate with team members in patient support groups
  • Exercise independent decision-making and active listening
  • Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Preferred one year of experience
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptive equipment tools
  • Ability to interpret instructions and evaluate social situations
  • Work independently with integrity and flexibility
