About the role
Project Renewal is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to building supportive communities where individuals can achieve dignity and independence through holistic care. Our programs are designed to provide comprehensive support, including health, housing, and employment services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an occupational therapy program engaging clients in therapeutic groups and 1:1 sessions to develop instrumental life skills.
- Facilitate the daily operation of the shelter to enable clients to utilize their time productively and meaningfully.
- Assist clients in identifying and accessing appropriate community-based services.
- Conduct individual assessments, develop OT goals, and lead skill-based groups addressing client needs.
- Support clients in preparing for successful housing interviews by developing necessary skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective care coordination.
- Participate in clinical supervision of occupational therapy interns and weekly supervision meetings.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current NYS licensure or temporary licensure at time of hire
- Experience in community-based mental health is preferred but not required
