Occupational Therapist

About the role

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy to students in various school settings.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates individual occupational therapy sessions in classrooms and other school settings.
• Serves as a member of the classroom team, providing direct supervision of students during school hours.
• Completes and submits clinical notes by 4:00 pm on the following Monday.
• Oversees sensory integration for students within the school setting.
• Provides crisis intervention services to students during school hours.
• Functions as a treatment team member and attends all team conferences and meetings.
• Facilitates the development of treatment goals, objectives, interventions, and approaches related to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Responsible for providing documentation of billable sessions for Medical Assistance by the 1st of each month.
• Manages outside-agency providers for students as applicable.
• Serves as a liaison to community resources.
• Affirms the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and students/families.
• Reviews client files quarterly to assess service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of the service plan.
• Attends required trainings and meetings.
• Shares/transmits Arrow Child & Family Ministries' mission and vision to staff and students/families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• At least one (1) year experience working with children diagnosed with autism, preferably in a school setting.
• Licenses as an occupational therapist by the State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.
• Eligible for and must obtain a valid State Department of Education certification within 60 days of hire.
