Job Responsibilities
- Screens patients/residents and evaluates them to develop appropriate care plans
- Provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
- Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
- Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
- Participates in clinical program development and implementation
- Participates in the training and orientation of other staff, students, and volunteers
- Participates in census building and marketing activities
- Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field
- Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents' individual health information
- May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
- CEU's per state licensure requirements
- Must possess an OT license in Rhode Island, or be in the process of obtaining one
- Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
- Communication skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities
- Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
- Requires intense attention and concentration
- Requires ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
- Requires demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
- Requires ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
- Requires demonstrated ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
Work Schedule
20 hours per week
