Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) — Skilled Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Address self‑care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Design creative, functional interventions for ADLs, cognitive retraining, upper extremity rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning for patients recovering from strokes, hip fractures, cardiac events, and progressive neurological conditions.
• Utilize strong clinical reasoning while maintaining realistic productivity expectations.

Compensation

Competitive pay (based on experience and location). Rate ranges include levels for per diems with no benefits and Independent Contractors.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem‑solving skills.
