Occupational Therapist Assistant (Licensed COTA)
About the Role
As the Occupational Therapist Assistant - Per Diem, you will provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability. You will follow state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care, adhere to the treatment plan set by the supervising OT, and work within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant according to state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Follow the plan of care and instruct patients in evidence-based treatment.
- Observe, record, and report the patient's response to treatment and any changes in condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
- Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy techniques within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
- Function effectively in any home situation, regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice.
- Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
State-Specific Requirement: In Alabama, must have 2+ years of experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Pay
Annual total cash target pay range: $48,175 - $72,263.
- Hourly rate: $23.16 - $34.74.
- Pay per visit point: $27.79 - $41.69.
Annual total cash compensation assumes full-time employment (40 weekly hours) at full productivity and generally follows the range above. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay and is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, and work experience. Compensation may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work performed:
- For visits: Paid per visit point rate, calculated by multiplying the per visit point rate by the productivity points accrued for various types of visits. Each visit type is assigned a certain number of productivity points, inclusive of "direct" and "indirect" patient care activities. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned.
- For non-visit activities (e.g., orientation): Paid at the hourly rate.
