Responsibilities
- Evaluate each patient's functional abilities and needs, then develop individualized therapy plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
- Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through compassionate care.
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation reflecting quality outcomes and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
- Provide education to patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
- Lead by example, guiding therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Texas is required.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an OT program is required, with a Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience in acute care is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
- Ability to work weekdays with rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
