About the role

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents, be creative in their treatment plans, and have excellent communication skills. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing direct services to clients, and providing feedback to families and other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Fun and energetic, with a genuine interest in working with children and adolescents.
  • Patient and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work well with others and independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable with managing a caseload.
  • Conducting assessments of clients and developing and following treatment plans.
  • Assessing home and school environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
  • Advising on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
  • Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
  • Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide clients and families with the best treatment program available.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association).
  • Certified by the National Board for Certification.
  • Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Possess up to date knowledge of treatment practices and occupational therapy programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Ability to develop creative treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Skills

  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Effective teaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and its use.

Pay

$80,000-95,000 based on hours and experience.

Schedule

Daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

Work setting
