Occupational Therapist 2 (Hourly/Per Diem)

About the role

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks an hourly/per diem Occupational Therapist II.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients referred for skilled occupational therapy in acute care and IRF setting, according to department's standard of care.
• Establish treatment goals and create POC to attain established goals.
• Provide appropriate patient/family education as needed.
• Participate as needed in IDT rounds and huddles.
• Consult with IDT regarding patient care.
• Evaluate/submit requests for DME, and adaptive assistive devices, orthotics and prosthetic needs.
• Complete/submit all required patient documentation & billing in EHR, along with all other related patient care and chart paperwork.
• Provide supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistant, rehabilitation aides, and volunteers.
• Adhere to all compliance regulations, licensure requirements, and federal and state regulations.
• Model the WE CARE values of the institution.
• Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.
• New York State Occupational Therapist Licensure.
• 1+ year of Occupational Therapist experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
• BLS/CPR Certification.
