Responsibilities
- Provides patient care services, including assessing workplace injuries or illnesses
- Supports the leadership team at the assigned workplace, working with the site lead nurse to attain the most efficient and highest quality Occupational Health office
- Supervises Physician Assistants, APRNs, resident physicians, medical students, and other paraprofessional health care students while on duty
- Participates in educational activities related to departmental needs, including maintaining MRO certification and FMCSA certification
- Participates in other departmental activities as required by the Medical Director of Occupational Health Services, such as designated committee meetings (intra/extramural)
- Supports marketing efforts for the department and visits client companies as needed
- Practices Occupational Medicine and/or urgent care at a company's work site and offers recommendations on policies and procedures related to employee and employer health issues on or off site
- Available for after-hours consultation to client companies and performs other duties as determined by the Medical Director of Occupational Health Services
- Available to work on weekends and evenings in an urgent care center at mutually agreed-upon times
Requirements
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Occupational Medicine
- Experience in Occupational Medicine and appropriate training to satisfy requirements to work in an urgent care facility
- Valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut
- Maintains appropriate Board Certification
- Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Controlled Substances Registration Certificate and State of Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration for Practitioners
- Membership in the Medical Staff of Yale New Haven Health or one of the Yale New Haven Health System affiliates
- Additional certifications unique to Occupational Medicine may be required (e.g., MRO or FMCSA certifications)
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in the practice of Occupational Medicine and 3 years in urgent care or emergency medicine, with an emphasis on hands-on patient care
- Experience in team leadership and supervising PAs and APRNs is a plus
- Clinical skills commensurate with the position
- Versed in all aspects of "walk-in" or urgent care medicine

Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
- May be required to work weekends, evenings, and after-hours consultations as needed
