Job Summary

We are looking for a per diem RN to support our onsite occupational health clinic in Essex Junction, VT. The Occupational Health Nurse will assist in managing clinic workflow of medical surveillance, injuries, illness, and promote employee health. This position requires proof of U.S. Citizenship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site treatment / management of injuries and minimize the need for off-site medical treatment
  • Give on-site care, first aid and follow up to occupationally injured/ill workers
  • Manage open workers comp and short-term disability cases as needed
  • Maintain a medical record database with proper charting in Cority and provide reports to management as applicable
  • Maintain OSHA records as applicable
  • Scheduling and completion of medical surveillance exams with reporting
  • May perform medical surveillance testing including but limited to: TB tests, blood draws, immunizations, vision tests, hearing tests, spirometry testing, and medical evaluations
  • May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, Blood Borne Pathogens and other training as necessary
  • Maintain clinic supplies for treatment and preventative measures in the workplace
  • Provide preventative health education as needed
  • Return to work with restrictions both Occupational & Non-Occupational
  • Monthly internal audits (supplies, charting, equipment, etc) and supply ordering
  • Employee education regarding proper use of hearing protection, respirator use wear, PPE, etc.
  • Wellness activities support (assist with flu clinic direction and health fairs)
  • Liaison with Client's Safety, Human Resources, Supervisors, and other departments within the onsite location
  • Monthly AED checks throughout the facility
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of Vermont
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred
  • Must hold current BLS certification
  • 3–5 years RN experience required
  • 2-3 years' experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred
  • Certification in Occupational Health preferred

Computer Skills

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk
  • Sometimes bending and stretching could be required
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds

Work Environment

  • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions
  • The noise level is usually moderate
  • Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled

Pay and Benefits

This position has an hourly pay range of $49 - $54 per hour. Final compensation for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits for this position include 401K.
