About the role

The on-site Occupational Nurse leads the medical department in monitoring employee health and well-being, meeting health and safety targets to reduce work-related injuries and educating the workforce about the requirements to minimize the risks they would be encountering. The Occupational Nurse is a vital member of the campus management team and serves as a major employee benefit and key to employee morale!

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative, heavy manufacturing environment;
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to drive improvements to meet long term goals for the business.
  • Leverage health promotion and disease management programs to increase employee accountability for health.
  • Develop, evaluate, and execute clinical protocols and practice guidelines with a focus on occupational health.
  • Provide ongoing care and referrals for treatment which allow for decreased time away from work.
  • Participate and assist with ergonomic assessments, job hazard analyses, training for First Responders, wellness, and health promotions.
  • Develops recommendations for prevention and control of occupational injuries and illnesses based on hazard identification and trend analysis in conjunction with the EHS Team.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active Alabama or compact-state Registered Nurse license.
  • PREFERABLY 5+ years of experience in Occupational Health or Acute Care nursing; Occupational Health certification is ideal.
  • MUST be willing and able to obtain required certifications within the first year of employment, which is required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment working with an hourly workforce is preferred, along with knowledge of OSHA, ADA, EHS, and ERT practices is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Assess and treat employees in alignment with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and appropriate levels of care.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

Schedule

Standard hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM with flexibility to occasionally swap a day shift for an evening or weekend shift as needed.
