About the Role
The Women's Place is an outpatient Reproductive Psychiatry clinic that provides mental health consultation and treatment during reproductive life events including the perinatal period and the menopause transition. Responsibilities will be assigned by the Division Director of Reproductive Psychiatry in the Department of OB/GYN and the Medical Director of The Women's Place.
Responsibilities
- Apply clinical psychiatry knowledge, skills, and perspective to services at The Women's Place, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, consultation, education, training, supervision, research, and administration.
- Evaluate and treat assigned patients through psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, and treatment planning.
- Work closely in consultative and liaison roles with other clinical specialties, including general OB/GYN, Gynecologists specializing in menopause, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Fetal Surgery, Reproductive-Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology, and Minimally-Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
- Participate in research projects as needed.
- Contribute to the educational mission of the College.
- Faithfully discharge duties and responsibilities, abide by all rules, regulations, and policies, and devote the required time and effort to performance.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry.
- Board-certified or board-eligible for certification by ABPN.
- Minimum of two (2) years of post-residency work experience in women's mental health or a fellowship in either Reproductive Psychiatry or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Texas.
- Experience in the education of medical trainees.
